Frugal Foods – Beginning

Frugal Foods

Frugal Foods

Mr. Marine and I are officially moved in! We have a few more big pieces of furniture to bring over, and small things to organize and arrange, but those are all just finishing details we can take care of as time goes on. Now we get to spend the next couple months getting settled and comfortable and we get to start making new memories in our new house. I couldn’t be happier! 🙂

One series I’ve been planning on doing for the last couple of months is to find a month’s worth of Frugal Foods. At the end of a long day, I find too many reasons to stop by a fast food joint, instead of making a homemade meal. The usual excuses are that it’s cheaper, it’s fast, no dishes to wash afterwards, and it’s ready right now. I can usually get food for around $5/person. My goal is to come up with quick, easy, HEALTHY meals for $5/person or less. That way I’ll have a month’s worth of excuses to eat at home, instead of eating out!

If you have any $5 meals your family loves, please add them in the comments below! We’d love to hear about them and try them out!
